FCI x Mintify: A Closer Look at How People Use the Florida Resource Map

A few months ago, we partnered with Mintify, a student organization from the University of Michigan, to learn how our Florida Resource Map (FRM) fits into the daily work of resource navigators in central Florida.

On the FRM’s behalf, the Mintify team interviewed three frontline professionals who regularly connect families with resources such as food assistance, housing, and medical transportation. Their conversations showed us opportunities to make the platform more useful, including improving search relevance, making distance-filtering more reliable, keeping resource information current, and identifying places where AI can support the referral process.

The report is excellent because it gives us a clear set of recommendations based on the experiences of the people who rely on these tools every day—and needless to say feedback that comes directly from the field and provides a practical roadmap for future improvements is something we like a lot.

Huge thanks to the Mintify team for the care, insight, and thoughtfulness they brought to this work! And, oh, yeah, go Blue!
